Sunday Mail Home Living ExpoThe Sunday Mail Home Living Expo, on in Adelaide this weekend Friday 20th – Sunday 22nd April, showcases the latest in renovation and decorating products, furnishings, home entertainment, and gardening and landscaping ideas, with more than 200 exhibitors across two massive pavillions and outdoor areas.

The three-day extravaganza also incorporates the Animal Expo with Australia’s favourite vet, Dr Harry Cooper, in the Wayville Pavilion, which will also house a fun kids activity area. The Autumn Gardening area will feature displays and expert advice about developing, enhancing and maintaining gardens and outdoor areas.

You can also learn more about living a more environmentally friendly lifestyle, energy efficient building design and drought resistant gardening in the Eco Solutions area, and at The April Gift and Craft Fair see fascinating hand-made and unique products not normally found in mainstream stores.

Presented by Adelaide’s most experienced home and lifestyle event organiser, Kym Jones Exhibitions, the Expo and its associated features will offer a great day out for families.

“We have put all the components of home living together to create a fantastic lifestyle event,” Kym Jones said. “It provides the opportunity for people to compare latest products and prices, gain expert advice, attend free seminars and demonstrations, and discover new ways to enhance their homes and outdoor living areas.”

Cooking up a storm

Ed HamagyiCooking demonstrations are always a popular part of the Expo, and this year popular TV chef “Fast Ed” Halmagyi is back again in the Food, Wine and Cooking Area.

The culinary star of the top-rating series Better Homes and Gardens will appear on the cooking stage at midday & 2pm each day to tempt show-goers with a new range of recipes and cooking ideas including a demonstration of the joys of Persian and Iranian cuisines.

“Persian and Iranian cooking relies on some spices, but the meals are more subtle than you will find in other Middle Eastern cuisines,” Ed explained. “It is a very elegant way of cooking with just a nuance of spice.”

Nic Mazzone and Rocco La Bella

As well as giving advice on creating the quick, easy meals he’s famous for, Ed will also focus on making confectionery at home, including honeycomb, marshmallow and boiled lollies, along with some special chocolate treats.

My Kitchen Rules finalists, Nic Mazzone and Rocco La Bella, will also be appearing on the cooking stage in the Jubilee Pavilion, at 1.00pm on Saturday and Sunday.

“We’re hoping to see lots of people there so we can demonstrate cooking some South Australian seafood specialties and a sweet surprise,” Rocco said temptingly. “They will be simple recipes and hopefully we’ll be able to give people a taste as well and answer any questions about our cooking.”
