Startup Writer Workshop for lean publishers coming to Adelaide!

2 December 2013 8,026 views No Comment

Startup Writer Workshop will begin its run in Australia in Adelaide on Saturday 21st December, showing authors how to apply startup principles to publish a profitable book.

Derived from the lean startup movement, lean publishing focuses on testing a manuscript before publishing it, to validate a market for the book. It introduces crowd-sourcing and crowd-funding techniques to authors.

This workshop will analyse successful lean publishing case studies, examine the elements of bestselling books and offer interactive breakout sessions to allow attendees to test their own book ideas with other authors.

The speaker, Guy Vincent, CEO and Founder of Publishizer (www.publishizer.com), will share his knowledge and expertise on the changing face of the publishing world.

“Our goal is simply to turn publishing a book into a community experience. With lean publishing, you create a market for your book before publishing it, rather than the other way around,” Guy said.

Startup Writer Workshop covers:

  • How to successfully apply lean publishing strategies for your book
  • How to harness beta readers to improve your manuscript
  • How to crowd-source your cover art
  • How to launch a crowd-funding campaign for your book
  • How to apply growth hacking and publicity strategies for your book

Plus industry insights on artisanal publishing, offset printing, ebook conversion, traditional publishing and much more… Attendees receive a free 99designs Power Pack Upgrade worth A$129, to get an awesome cover design for their book.

Publishizer is offering ten Adelaide Tweet readers an additional $10 discount
off Earlybird tickets (normally $50), by using this link to Eventbrite.

The Startup Writer Workshop is on at the
Majoran Distillery, Level 2, 14 Grenfell Street, Adelaide.
