Two fabulous wine events, both part of Tasting Australia, are set to bring great wines and their makers into two of Adelaide’s coolest city destinations.

Flexing mussels at the Market

Mussel ManiaAdelaide Central Market,
Friday 27th April, 5 – 7.30pm.

Mussel Mania will see many of those legendary Winemakers without Borders flexing their wine muscles, with help from Australia’s finest mussel men and women, from Spring Bay Seafoods in Tasmania.

This free wine tasting and mussel sampling event takes place in the south-western corner of the market and is part of Tasting Australia.

You can sample wines from Oliver’s Taranga, Clover Hill, Arete, Ducks in a Row, Wirra Wirra, D’arenberg, Golding, Running with Bulls, Yalumba, Mitolo, Spring Seed, Battle of Bosworth and Zema Estate in the bustling Friday night market atmosphere.

#EASTENDWINEDOWN

East End Cellars, Vardon Place,
Thursday 3rd May,
5 – 8pm.

East End Wine DownIt’s the wine event so cool it’s name is already a hashtag!

#EASTENDWINEDOWN will see 14 winemakers from across South Australia converge on East End Cellars at Vardon Place in Adelaide’s East End. Winemaker and DJ Brendon Keys will spin beats as you sip your way through McLaren Vale, the Adelaide Hills and Barossa to Coonawarra and beyond.

Presented by Radpublic and Winemakers without Borders, East End Wine Down is part of this year’s Tasting Australia festival and is set to be one heck of a party in a great laneway setting.

“It’s a relatively tucked away haunt in the CBD that is home to one of Australia’s finest independent wine retailers,” Radpublic Director Louise Radman said. “We’re planning to fill it with wine-loving punters; cool music and loads of talking, tasting and tweeting.”

Unusual white wine varietals and styles, many well-loved reds and whites, and rarer reds wines like aglianico, sangiovese and tempranillo will be available to taste. Tasters will also enjoy home baked empanadas and sweets from Delicias Argentinas.

Meet the winemakers from Arete, Battle of Bosworth, Bespoke Bros, BK Wines, Chapel Hill, Golding, Kanta, La Linea, Mitolo, Ochota Barrels, Oliver’s Taranga, Some Young Punks, Spinifex, and Zema Estate.

#EASTENDWINEDOWN tickets are $15 per person via ticketek outlets or at Ticketek online.

Winemakers without Borders

Winemakers without Borders described in their own words:

…a group for winemakers who want to be a little bit different, but especially for those who might not have a cellar door but are willing to pack a suitcase and wine and take it to a market or thoroughfare near you… Most importantly its about making unique and different wines and oh about personalities – just winemakers and the people closest to the wine they make (without borders).
