Leonard Choice’s WOMADelaide Images

Adelaide’s master of festival photography, Leonard Choice, was at WOMADelaide again this year and has given us a selection of his 2012 photos to showcase the spectacle of the world’s greatest world music festival. As an accredited WOMADelaide photographer he’s been chronicling the festival since 2007.

These spectacular photographs include shots of Baaba Maal, Blue King Brown, Chic, Dirty Three, Ferragutti and Kramer, First Aid Kit, Joe Baatan, Master Drummers of Barundi, Shantala Shivalingappa, The Bearded Gypsy Band and Tinariwen.

Leonard Choice PhotographerLeonard, who lives in Adelaide and works here and in Sydney, launched his “MyBESTOF Festivals Photography” book last year at the SA Writers Centre last year alongside Sydney journalist and author Seth Jordan.

The coffee-table book was the culmination of five years of work. Also a graphic designer and publisher, Leonard designed and published the book himself, presenting in one volume his rare and vibrant photographs of artists like Sarah Blasko, Jeff Martin and The Armada, John Butler Trio, Archie Roach, Tutti Ensemble, Mavis Staples, Grace Jones, Silverchair, Ravi Shankar, Missy Higgins, Al Green, Toumani Diabete’s Symmetric Orchestra, The Fumes, Lamb and Ziggy Marley.
